(September/October 2025) Trotec Laser—an international provider of laser machines based in Marchtrenk, Austria—shifted final assembly of Speedy 360 and Speedy 400 laser systems to its U.S. headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan. The change marks a key step forward in the company’s long-term strategy to grow its U.S. presence and bring more of its production process stateside.
“We believe that this coupling of Austrian precision and American finish provides an exciting next step for the future of Trotec,” says Adam O’Donnell, head of supply chain operations in North America. “[This] announcement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the American market and allows us to advance innovation, while strengthening economic and supply chain resiliency.”
The Plymouth facility currently manages customer service, training, warehousing, and logistics. With this shift, the location will now serve as a central production hub for North American operations. In addition to community-wide job creation, Trotec says customers will benefit from improved part availability for service and repairs, streamlined upgrades and custom configurations, and a tighter integration between the production, service, and sales teams going forward. In the future, Trotec plans to expand the scope of its U.S.-based assembly to include additional laser systems.
